3 women, including serial actress, held for manhandling Uber driver in Kochi

The police took three women into custody after they allegedly manhandled a taxi driver.

The women, all hailing from Kannur, manhandled the Uber driver following an argument over taxi fare.

One of the women told the police that she was a TV serial actress.

The driver identified as Shefeeq, a native of Aroor, sought medical treatment at Ernakulam General Hospital.

The women had booked the cab using the Uber pool facility which allows passengers headed to the same place book the same cab and share the fare. However, the women got angry with the driver after they saw another passenger in the vehicle.

The women told the police that the dispute over seat sharing led to an altercation and they attacked the driver after he misbehaved with them. The Marad police have recorded the statement of Shefeeq.
