Before the days of Angry Birds, Mini Militia and Candy Crush, there were CD-ROMs. Those old-school discs that you inserted into your computer opened up new worlds of fantasy and adventure. These games were the best the ’90s had to offer. The graphics of those games were nowhere near today’s games but it was perfect for us.
Nowadays, they trigger the best kinds of nostalgia.
1. Wolfenstein 3D
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
5. Mortal Kombat
6. Half Life
7. Virtua Cop 2
9. Street Fighter
10. Age of Empires
11. EA Cricket 99
12. Road Rash
13. Prince of Persia
14. Dangerous Dave
15. Project IGI
16. Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines
17. Super Mario
All these games were very hard to beat. Die three times and its game over then you have to start from the beginning. There is no respawn like today’s games.
In the age of ultra-realistic graphics, we still find these games interesting despite the pixelated graphics. Maybe its nostalgia or maybe because they were really good.
